Parish News October 2026
The October 2026 edition of Parish News is full of movement, colour and community spirit. The editors open with reflections on the theme of change, from the magazine’s new subscription model to the arrival of a new editor in 2027. Across the villages, there’s a lively mix of events: quiz nights, coffee mornings, knitting groups, yoga sessions, harvest lunches and craft fairs, all showing how active and welcoming the local communities remain. Fundraising successes feature throughout, from St Stephen’s family fun afternoon to Ramsdell’s Pink Tea Party, alongside invitations to join tidy‑ups, walks and social gatherings.
Seasonal pieces bring warmth and personality: Weather Watch celebrates autumn’s colours and long‑awaited rain, while In My Garden offers practical tips for planting, pruning and preparing for winter. Wendy’s Wanderings transports readers to Aix‑en‑Provence with lavender, art, hot springs and unexpected treats, adding a touch of travel escapism.
The magazine also looks ahead, explaining how printed copies will move to a subscription basis while a free online edition will ensure everyone stays connected. Kingsclere’s updates highlight walks, library events, dramatic performances and children’s reading achievements, and the recipe for Apple & Cinnamon Cake offers a cosy autumn bake. Reverend Hillman’s thoughtful View from the Vicarage explores climate change, responsibility and hope, encouraging readers to consider how belief can shape behaviour.
With a photography exhibition, memorial service details, and a comprehensive directory of local clubs and services, the issue is packed with opportunities to get involved, learn something new or simply enjoy the rhythm of village life.
