Baughurst Repair Café
Don’t Bin it, Repair it !
About Us
The birth of Baughust Repair Café
On 9th August 2023, the Sustainable Baughurst group held a meeting at Heath End Village Hall to discuss and form a new community initiative geared towards repairing and reusing household items thereby reducing landfill waste and CO2 emissions, run entirely by volunteers.
It’s called Baughurst Repair Café and straight after this inaugural meeting, we set about seeking funding for start-up, advertised for volunteers and developed our repair café processes, policies and publicity channels.
Our first event on 19th November 2023 was opened by the Mayor of Basingstoke & Deane, and we welcomed over 100 people. Some came to see what a repair café is all about and have since become repeat customers and staunch supporters.
Many were surprised that we repair the items and provide café facilities for free! Discretionary donations are welcome to help us with the running costs, invest in necessary tools and develop our volunteers via training.

The Repair Café meets every 3rd Sunday in the month, January to November, so why not come along and get your garden tools sharpened, your electrical, electronic and IT items repaired. We also offer bicycle, textile, soft toys, woodwork and costume jewellery repairs.
See you at Heath End Village Hall, Sunday from 10:00am till 1:00pm.
Last repairs accepted at 12.30pm to give our repairers time to complete repairs by 1:00pm.
