Start at the haunted Baughurst Community Orchard.
- From the Orchard, head south‑west to Long Grove and turn right to walk along the road. Continue following Long Grove round a long bend past one of the Borson Barrows which are on your left. Beware of spirits rising from these bronze-age burial grounds! Move on along the road to the Play Area on your left.
- Go through the play area, but keep your eyes open — you might spot bats swooping overhead or giant (pretend!) spiders hiding in the trees.
- Through the playground, enter Forest Close, where cheeky elves and pixies love to play tricks. Listen carefully — you may hear the caw of spooky ravens watching from the branches above.
- Turn right down the cul‑de‑sac to Woodlands Road, then turn left along the road. Keep an eye on the treetops — who knows what magical creatures might be peeking down at you!
- Turn right into Portway — said to be a gateway to another realm! Walk carefully, as mischievous goblins are known to giggle and scurry about here.
- Continue along Portway until you reach Woodlands Road again. Nearby is the Witch’s Seat — but don’t worry, she only comes out on Halloween night to check who’s been brave enough to pass by.
- Follow Woodlands Road until you reach the T‑junction with Long Grove. Don’t turn here — it’s far too spooky! Instead, keep going until you reach the second entrance to Long Grove on your left.
- Turn left into Long Grove. Walk carefully — the hobgoblins and gremlins who live nearby love to set silly tricks and traps for passing walkers. Step lively and laugh at their mischief!
- Finally, take the first left back to the Orchard, where a Halloween feast awaits all those who have completed the journey.
