Start at the haunted Baughurst Community Orchard.

  1. From the Orchard head south-west to Long Grove and turn right to walk along the road.
  2. Continue following Long Grove round a long bend past one of the Borson Barrows which are on your left. Beware of spirits rising from these bronze-age burial grounds! Move on along the road to the play area on your left.
  3. Follow the path through to the play area, watching for bats in the trees above and large spiders that prey there. Enter Forest Close where elves and pixies may taunt you. Beware the ravens who will peck at your flesh – if you have any!
  4. Follow the cul‑de‑sac right until you get to Woodlands Road and then turn left along the road – be careful for what may live in the canopy above you.
  5. Turn right into Portway – the gateway to another realm! Beware of the goblins that inhabit this space – strange creatures indeed.
  6. Take the next left after passing the garages on Portway and entrance to the forge (the parade of shops) at the end of this road is a forest footpath, follow this, if you dare. Follow the path and take a right into Mornington Close and follow Mornington Close then turn left onto Wellington Crescent.
  7. Walk along Wellington Crescent and cross Heath End Road and turn right to the Withies area, where you will see ghosts and ghouls reflected in the water. Cross the road to Popular Corner where the gnarled chestnut tree holds ancient spirits within its weathered branches.
  8. Carry on along Brimpton Road, passing Wellington Crescent on your right, then Hazel Green. Beware the toads and slimy creatures that live in this area.
  9. Continue along Brimpton Road on the footpath and then turn right onto Woodlands Road. You will pass area 104 on your right – beware of entering as many have never emerged again!
  10. Follow Woodlands Road, passing Pinewood Close and Portway to your right, until you reach the T‑junction with Long Grove, but do not turn here. Continue along Woodlands Road until you reach the second entrance to Long Grove on your left. You will pass the witches seat, where she waits at night for unescorted children to grab for breakfast.
  11. Turn left into Long Grove. Walk carefully along the road, avoiding the many traps set for you by the local hobgoblins and gremlins – they are after your soul!
  12. Take the first left back to the Orchard where a feast awaits those who have survived the journey.
