Woodlands Estate Accessible Walk 3 (even less mud!)
Approximate time: 50 mins. Distance 2.6 km or 1.6 miles.

Start at Heath End Village Green. Bear left onto Heath End Road.
- Cross directly into the Withey’s park area, with its pond and reflective garden.
- Cross Heath End Road to Poplar Corner — in late winter/early spring you’ll see drifts of snowdrops followed by daffodils.
- Carry on along Brimpton Road, passing Wellington Crescent on your left, then Hazel Green.
- Bear right through the woodland to emerge onto Woodlands Road, close to the bus stop. If its muddy, continue along Brimpton Road on the footpath and then turn right onto Woodlands Road.
- Follow Woodlands Road, crossing Pinewood Close and Portway, until you reach the T‑junction with Long Grove. The Parish Notice Board is on your left, the bus stop on your right.
- Turn left into Long Grove. You’ll pass the Baughurst Community Orchard on your right, with the Long Grove Play Area in the distance.
- Continue to the end of Long Grove and bear left into the cul‑de‑sac. At the triangle with cotoneasters, turn right onto the Hampshire/Berkshire border bridleway. If its muddy, continue following Long Grove round a long bend to the Play Area and continue at 10.
- Follow the bridleway past the Bronze Age Borson Barrows — nine large burial mounds visible through the woodland on your right.
- Bear left onto Long Grove, following the road around to your right. The Community Orchard will now be behind you, and the Long Grove Play Area on your left.
- Pass the playground and enter Forest Close. Turn left down the cul‑de‑sac to Woodlands Road.Turn left along Woodlands Road. If you wish to see the reflective park, continue to the T‑junction where it will be on your left. Otherwise, turn left past the garages into Portway.
- Bear left onto the footpath and follow it to The Forge — the small shopping area with Tesco, cafés, and takeaways, on the site of the old village forge.
- Retrace your steps from the Forge, turning left onto Portway.
- Take the first left into a Portway cul‑de‑sac, then an immediate right into the woodland footpath.
- Follow the path to the right into Mornington Close, then turn left into Wellington Crescent.
- Walk along Wellington Crescent and cross Heath End Road to finish.
